1998 Summer Leadership Conference
From Tuesday, July 28, 1998 to Thursday, July 30, 1998, I attended the 1998 Summer Leadership Conference in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The conference sessions were incredibly useful and I was able to make contact with other local leaders in the MEA. It was a wonderful learning experience, and I plan to attend again next year. I attended the following sessions:
- Personal PR for the Association Leader
- Presenter: Lynn Larson
- Grievance Workshop (Parts I, II, and III)
- Presenters: Curt Lange, Bill Murray, Karen Murray
- Leading Your Members Through the Maze of MPSERS, the IRS, and Taxes
- Presenter: Chuck Agerstrand
In addition to these sessions, I was able to take part in a small focus group working on the ODI (Organizational Development Initiative) data and mission statement, as well as the general meetings of the conference.
